Today I’m demonstrating how I cut hair for Tom and our 5 boys. I also show what tools I use. I find it very money and time efficient to do the job at home.

  1. Judah was such a good model the grin on his face said he was having a good time

  2. in general, do you keep the philosophy of letting your kids do what they want with their 'look', or do you not allow certain things? like, for example, if one of your girls wanted short hair or one of them wanted to wear different clothes?

  3. Hi. Andrea. You do a very nice job.

  4. i would love to see the girls version…

  5. This is great. I started cutting my own hair at 18 because I could get a pair of clippers for the same price as one hair cut. I only ever planned to use it to keep the back and sides tidy because my hair grows too quick but I kept doing it because it's convenient. I do my dads and my uncles hair sometimes. If I have kids, I'll probably do theirs too.

  6. Good gosh, what can't you do? Lol!

  7. I have 1boy (4months) out of 5sisters I will learn on him my husband is picky on haircuts

  8. I've been cutting our boys hair for the better part of the last 15 years but not as nicely as you do your sons 🙂 I'm a bit awful with the scissors! Hadn't thought of using the first cut as a guide for subsequent cuts (I always tried to measure out the same length with each next lot of hair I pulled for cutting but I could never get them the same and it would end up disastrous and I'd just end up using the clippers on the top to even it up). Our boys mostly get a short cut all over with the clippers (the sides and back with a shorter guide and the centre/top with the longest guide we have) and they like to grow it out a little and then I use the clippers on the sides and back again and they keep it a little longer on top for a while (before we start the cycle over again). In all those 15 years I never thought to buy an extra cape to wear myself. I hate 'the itchies' from all those bits of hair so I've taken to wearing my rain jacket for protection 😉 An extra hair cutting cape is a much smarter idea!

  9. What if they wanted long hair?

  10. If the blade cleaning stuff is expensive you can use denatured alcohol to clean and cool them I use it when clipping horses of corse when doing that your clippers get hot really quickly

  11. Hay it grows back what's the worst that can happen so long as they have both ears when you finish

  12. Do you cut your daughter's hair aswell?

  13. Are you doing anymore haircut videos?

  14. I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out but you did an amazing job. 😊

  15. I always cut my boys hair too you did a great job

  16. i have 5 kids and always go to the salon but after this video i save soo much money

  17. What a great idea to save money… Why haven't I thought of this? I watched this video right before my daughter needed a haircut, so I looked on youtube and cut her hair myself and saved $30 by cutting her hair just once! Thanks for all your money-saving videos 🙂

  18. Handsome young man!
    Thank you for sharing

  19. Your littlest boy has the absolute cutest smile!!

  20. i use wahl clippers on my horses, they work so great!

  21. Been cutting my guys hair since I first met him 16 years ago he gave me the shears and his trust and I've never done it wrong lol it's easy my tip- it's easier if the hair is not left to get to long but yeah good job 👍😀

  22. Can you please do a video introducing the kids names and ages?

  23. Awesome video! You do a great job! I'd let you cut my hair for sure. Love the way your hair was styled in the video too.

  24. Thank you for sharing! Judah is always so smiley 🙂 My husband does his own hair and my 3 oldest boys' hair. He doesn't know how to do a scissor cut on the top and said if I want it longer I will need to do it. I think this video gave me confidence! I just gave my youngest (19m) his first cut last week. I scissor cut his, and if I could survive his grabbing hands and wiggly head I should be able to handle my older boys, lol. Do any of your kids have a double cowlick in the back? It looked like maybe Judah had one. My husband, two of my boys, and my girl have it and it makes it a little lore difficult.

  25. cut a Rat tail haircut

  26. Great job Andrea!! I have my husband and two boys hair to trim and boy that's enough!!! My eldest is 20 now and decided for the first time to go to the hairdressers. He wanted to try something new when he came back I was very encouraging to him about the new style but couldn't help thinking how I could have improved on it! You are super efficient and know your way around a pair of scissors!! I just cut everything one length with the clippers, not to short though. My youngest has been growing his hair a bit longer, it's full of curls and a little water helps to tighten them up and tidy it up too. I prefer them to have a short cut because it's easy to keep tidy, but it's not about me, I have always given the sons the final say about their hair when they at the age that it mattered to them. What a great money saver too, I enjoyed your vlog, thank you ☺

  27. Wow you are a great hair stylist too! Amazing👍👍❤️😊

  28. Yea. Great job! You definitely get apt of practice cutting everyone's hair. Looks good

  29. wishing you all the best when your ready for a new baby and thanks for always getting back to me

  30. I've been cutting my husband's hair for about 5 years now, even before we got married. I usually just cut it all one length with the exact same clippers as you have! I might try something like this at his next appointment. Lol. Tell Asher he did great filming. 🙂

  31. Nerves of steel, Andrea. I can't even cut my own bangs straight. LOL! Fortunately The Drummer is BALD, although he does get the Bozo fringe trimmed and I have helped him do that with clippers in an emergency. Getting time to get to the salon is half the battle! (I have really wanted to try and clip my dogs because they are so traumatized by the groomer. I think you've inspired me to start there.) xoj
